WHIRLING WONDERS - An Introduction to the Chakras

A 4 hour introduction workshop to kick start your exploration into your energy or pranic body. Enabling you to go deeper in your practice and take the wisdom of these fascinating 8 energy centers into your everyday life.

"Whirling Wonders" is a 3 hour introduction to  the chakras, in order to  start you on your self exploration journey of these wonderful wells of knowledge within you.

The pranic body - the home of the 8 energy wheels know as the Chakras , is  a huge subject. Primarily because each and every aspect of who you are - physically, emotionally, and mentally can be attributed to the balance or imbalance of a chakra (s)  within your body.

The workshop covers the basic characteristics and functions of each chakra. What each chakra "looks like" in  its  balanced, deficient ,  and excessive state s .  Which Asanas (physical yoga postures)  work  to stimulate and open each energy center . And we'll cap it all off with a meditation to help you tap into the subtle energy of whirling wonders within.

CHAKRA SHUDDHI MEDITATION WORKSHOP

With basic knowledge and having started your exploration of the chakra system you are now ready to learn the 3 step meditational technique of locating, stimulating and purifying each of the 8 main chakras.

Taking the information accumulated from your "Whirling Wonders" workshop or personal knowledge of the Chakra system, it is now time to expand your practice from using your awareness of the chakras in Asana (yogic postures) and bring it into your meditational practice as well!

In the Chakra Shuddhi Meditation Workshop (shuddhi = purification) we cover 3 individual meditations to start the process of Locating, Stimulating and Purifying each chakra. These are 3 of the 5 steps needed to awaken and rise the Kundalini Shakti. The final 2 stages must be practiced with a Master or Guru as the techniques are passed down only at the time the student is ready to practice them.

Please note that in order to attend this workshop you must already have a basic knowledge and understanding of the chakra system as the basics of each chakra will not be covered.

Surya Namaskara - A Salutation to the Sun Within is a 3 hour in-depth exploration into an ancient yoga practice. Many know the moves as the instructor calls them out in a yoga class but do you really know what your doing? What the benefits are or why your doing them at all?

This workshop lets you explore each posture individually optimizing the asanas (postures) for YOUR body. Then taking that knowledge and moving it from a 12 posture robotic sequence into a blissful moving meditation. We will explore the many layers of wisdom of this practice though the intricacies of breath, the chakras and though the vibrational sound of Mantra.

Chandra Namaskara - A Salutation to the Moon Within is a 3 hour in-depth exploration into Suyra Namaskaras (sun salutations) sister. Although not as common as Suyra Namaskara, Chandra Namaskra is an integral part of any balanced yoga practice.

This workshop lets you explore each posture individually optimizing the asanas (postures) for YOUR body. Then taking the knowledge of the 14 posture sequence and moving it into a blissful moving meditation as you acknowledge the Divine Mothers cooling energy though the Moon within. Come along and find out how balance, explore and appreciate the influence the Nadis have over every aspect of your mental and physical health.

The Nadis - variously translated as "channels", "nerves", "veins", make up the composition of the subtle or yogic body in Tantra. Like the Chinese meridians, the nadis constitute channels of flow of subtle vital force or prana. The Nadis have a strong influence over the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic nervous systems in the body as they interweave with each of the chakras up the spinal column and thus heavily influence and communicate to us about how our physical and mental bodies are or are not in balance. Although the pranic bodies holds a system of 72,000 Nadis, they can all be balanced and harmonized by learning the intricacies of the 3 main Nadis, Ida, Pingala and Sushumna. “An Introduction to Body Awareness” is part one in the three part “Bridging the Bodies Workshop Series”. It gives the participant, through a series of activities, a guideline of how much awareness they have about their own bodies and how their body speak to them. Often we are so overwhelmed with exterior stimulation from our environments we become numbed to the internal dialogue our bodies are having with us, the end result is it screaming at us through illness. “An Introduction to Body Awareness” facilitates activities that will help the participant to understand their own unique body makeup through Ayurvedic principles, and enable them to tune into their inner dialogue, their inner wisdom. Taking with them a set of tools that can be integrated into their daily lives, to help minimize stress and maximize enjoyment, as well as enhancing the benefits of their yoga practice.

An Introduction to Chakra Awareness

Part Two in the “Bridging the Bodies Workshop Series”, takes the information and tools about Body Awareness in part one and expands that with information, and the exploration of the energy centers of the body called the Chakras. We take a look at the language of the Chakras and how our emotions are the first indicators of energy blocks within our bodies. Participants are facilitated through the yogic technique of Chakra Shoddhi (or purification), a meditation practice which not only helps to unblock stagnant energy, and unresolved emotions within the body, but when used in conjunction with their yoga practice take the benefits of their efforts to a whole new level.

Make Your Mind Body Connection

“Make Your Mind Body Connection” is the final installment of the three part “Bridging the Bodies Workshop Series” It’s a day to collate, plan and share the wisdoms that have been accumulated over the course. Taking the tools and information on self and body awareness from part one, and the knowledge and experiences of the subtle body that inhabits the charkas from part two. Part three “Make Your Mind Body Connection” enables us to take a look at holistic health and lifestyle. Participates explore the link between their own mental processes, emotions, and their physical health, both past and present. In understanding their unique patterns, and mind body language, part three facilitates participants to explore techniques for creating their own holistic healthy lifestyle, enabling them the knowledge, and awareness to manage the delicate balance of mind, body and sprit.
