1080 - KARMA YOGA PROJECT
1080 is a project that 19 people, who are going to spend a month in an Ashram in December, are putting together to raise funds for Sivananda Math. SM, is an organization, based out of the Bihar School of Yoga's Ashram "Rikhia Peeth", that is designed to assist and encourage "growth of the weaker and underdeveloped sections of the society, especially in the rural areas, by following the precepts of seva (service), karuna (compassion), prem (love) and sneha (affection)."
In 2008 SM is embarking on feeding over 2000 children a day to those who would not get sufficient nourishment at home. See http://www.yogavision.net/sm/chron_intro.htm for more info on their activities.
So... for Project1080 - each of our group members chose 60 photos, each photo representing an expression of the “beauty” and "awe" of mother earth.

All 1080 photos and quotes will be assembled onto a 9' x 5' stretched canvas and will be configured into a "work of art" which will then be auctioned off to the highest bidder in October. ALL net proceeds of this project will be going to Sivananda Math as a donation upon the groups arrival in Rikhia in December 2008.
